Pizza is one of my favorite foods, but up until now I rarely ate it. What’s different now?

I found Crustology pizza crusts! While I love a good pizza place from time to time, I really love developing my own creations because I know exactly what ingredients are going into the foods I’m eating. And of course, it’s fun!

And while I enjoy making a complicated gourmet meal, most of the time I am all about nutritious ingredients and convenience, which is why I love this pizza crust! It also doesn’t hurt that my husband loves this pizza and he’s the first to roll his eyes when I tell him about a “lighter” version of something.

This Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza tastes exactly what it sounds like – a cheeseburger in pizza form! Made with ground beef, two types of cheeses, bacon bits and pickles, its sure to satisfy your cravings for both pizza and a burger!

INGREDIENTS

  • Crustology Pizza Crust
  • Olive oil or avocado oil (I used 2 tbsp, but you can use spray to cut back on fat)
  • 90 grams Part Skim Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 85 grams Velveeta Shreds
  • 28 grams Bacon Bits
  • 1 oz Kosher Dill Pickles, diced
  • 4 oz cooked Ground Beef (I used Butcher Box’s 85% lean ground beef. If you want it a little lower in fat use a leaner beef)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Before creating your pizza make sure you cook your ground beef on the stove top, breaking up the beef until browned.

  2. Spray a pizza stone with cooking spray and place pizza crust on it.

  3. Spread (or spray) pizza crust with your oil of choice.

  4. Top pizza crust with with both cheeses, followed by the beef, bacon bits and diced pickles.

  5. Bake in the oven for 12 minutes.

  6. Let cool for a few minutes and then cut into 8 slices and enjoy!

This would also probably taste amazing with Trader Joe’s Magnifisauce drizzled on top, but we were all out when I was creating this recipe!

**Nutrition facts below were calculated using Crustology’s Multigrain Pizza Crust, 2 tbsp of olive oil, plus the rest of the ingredients listed above. Serving size is for 2 slices of pizza. One whole pizza makes 8 slices.**
